Raffle Ticket Generator V5 #
We are proud to release Version 5 of the Raffle Ticket Generator for WordPress and WooCommerce. While the core functionality is the same, there are many new features based on all the customer input. To accommodate all the new functionality, the admin pages have changed significantly.
Important Info #
The plugin can be complicated with all the various options. This is especially true of the Platinum Lottery/Competition Edition when using all the features. It was designed originally for experienced web developers. Always begin with the basic features and get everything working, then add the additional functionality. We will assist as much as possible but we are not able to provide free WooCommerce and theme support.
Before you begin:
- Make sure you have a backup program installed for WordPress.
- Install and TEST your setup on a staging or test environment We cannot stress how important this is. We get support requests daily from customers who install the plugin – never read the documentation or test it and suddenly have 5000 raffle tickets being sent to customers when they meant to send one!
Thank you for purchasing the Raffle Ticket Generator. We value you as a customer and wish you the best success on your fundraising raffles. The Raffle Ticket Generator generates raffle tickets as an add-on to WooCommerce and WordPress. We assume that you have basic knowledge of WooCommerce when you purchased this plugin. Here is a brief overview of the plugin setup and functions:
License Info: #
Your license for the plugin allows you to use the plugin for as long as you wish, but support and updates are good for the term you selected. Technology is constantly changing and we are adding additional features on a regular basis. Over the years, we have had to change the plugin significantly to be compatible with the different versions of WooCommerce and WordPress. We support the version of the plugin you own for the same versions of WordPress and WooCommerce it was designed and released for. For example, while the license never expires, if you purchased the Raffle Ticket Generator 2.0 back in 2015 and 2016 that was built for WordPress 4.4 and WooCommerce 2.4. So much has changed with WordPress and WooCommerce that while the license for our 3 year old plugin does not expire, We cannot guarantee, that they will work on updated WordPress and WooCommerce. That said, those old versions will continue to work perfectly on WP 4.4 and WooCommerce 2.4. We offer updates and support extensions at a reasonable price. We are a US based company with English speaking support during EST normal business hours if you have questions.
Plugin Installation: #
A few things to remember prior to installing the Raffle Ticket Generator Silver, Gold or Platinum Plugin:
- The Raffle Ticket Generator is an add on to WooCommerce.
- You have to have WooCommerce installed and configured
- The Bronze version MUST be deactivated and UNINSTALLED PRIOR TO INSTALLING (if you installed thinking it was a trial)
- The site you are installing to must be accessible to the public internet. Unfortunately, due to piracy, we have to authenticate the license with our license server. If you are on a local host or a hidden site that our server cannot communicate with the plugin, it will not be able to activate the license.
When you are ready to install the plugin, first download your version by clicking on the link you got in your order confirmation email or from your account on WPRaffle.com.
From the WordPress dashboard, go to plugins and then add new:
Upload the Raffle Ticket Generator and then Activate. This activates the plugin in WordPress but you still need to activate your license.
Plugin Activation: #
Once the plugin has been activated in WordPress, you need to activate your license with our servers. This requires a publicly accessible site, it will not activate on a localhost install.
Access the license screen by going to Settings in your WordPress Dashboard and clicking on Raffle Ticket Generator Activation.
For your convenience, we offer the ability to purchase a second license for your development or test server on our website. You are only authorized to install a single license on a single server or installation of WordPress and for a single organization. We do not support WP Multisite with our licensing. If you change your server, you can deactivate the license from your WpRaffle.com account.
To manage your licenses – when you login to your account on https://online.wpraffle.com Go to Orders and then License Manage.
From the License Manage Tab, you can deactivate a license and if you purchased an additional Dev License, you can generate another key to install on your live site.
If you are going to move your site. You need to DEACTIVATE your license on the WPRaffle.com dashboard PRIOR to cloning the site. Unfortunately, due to continued piracy, the license will become locked if you clone the site and do not deactivate it.
Once your license has been activated on the server, the various options will appear in the Raffle Ticket Generator section of the WordPress dashboard.
Activation Troubleshooting: #
The plugin will activate to our server. If you server blocks communication, it will not activate. A common cause for this is when you have a temp domain or a localhost private install, if our server cannot communicate back to your website, like in the case where the domain is not public, you cannot activate the plugin.
The second issue is that our license file is deleted or blocked on your hosting server. The file wp-content/plugins/raffle-ticket-generator-xxxxxxx/includes/hooks/_hooks_.php must be there to work with our license server. Some hosting or security software modules will block or quarantine as a false positive. You must whitelist this file and reinstall the plugin to be able to activate.
Moving Hosts or Upgrading Editions: #
You need to deactivate the license via the wp-admin settings menu PRIOR to moving the host or if you are going to upgrade from one edition to another, as in moving from Silver to Platinum. If you do not, you will have issues activating the license on the new host or edition.
When UPGRADING editions, AFTER you have deactivated the license, you need to deactivate the previous edition and DELETE the plugin. Then install the new edition plugin and activate as noted above. Each edition has its own plugin, the license key does not switch between versions, they are completely separate products.
